Weekend blaze at Shannon Bennett’s Dandenongs venue

A fire broke out over the weekend at a venue in the Dandenongs owned by celebrity chef Shannon Bennett.

A building near the Piggery Cafe, attached to the Burnham Bakery and part of Bennett’s Operation Burnham Beeches, caught fire during the Sunday lunchtime service.

Emergency services were called out, and it took firefighters an hour and a half to get the blaze under control.

“One of the heritage sheds has caught fire,” Bennett told the Herald Sun.

“Not sure the cause. All under control now.”
