Colin Fassnidge pays tribute to former colleague

Celebrity chef Colin Fassnidge has paid tribute to the former sous chef of his Sydney restaurant 4Fourteen who died recently.

Chef Matt Crandon died in non-suspicious circumstances just days after renowned chef Justin Bull was found dead in his Bronte café.

Crandon and Fassnidge had worked together at 4Fourteen before it closed its doors last August, with the MKR judge paying his respects on social media with a photo of Crandon.

“Matt looking chuffed on the pass of 4fourteen restaurant before he lost all dockets. RIP mate, you will be missed,” he wrote on the post.

Fassnidge revealed recently that he was raised to believe that you’re a “strong man” if you have the “don't say anything, everything's okay” mentality.

“And it's taken me a lot of time to just express yourself to other men, and that's what we do to our younger chefs,” he said. “Tell them it's okay to talk and it's okay to cry.”
