Fire at Rydges Hotel Port Macquarie

Firefighters were called out to the Rydges Hotel Port Macquarie last week after a fire broke out in the cool room.

The blaze took about half an hour to extinguish, according to Port Macquarie station officer Jim Murphie.

"Crews were called out at 5.03pm (to the Rydges Hotel Port Macquarie) and arrived at 5.09pm, the fire was finished at 5.37pm," he said.

"Fire was located in the cool room,  it was brought under control... contained in cool room and kitchen of the hotel. It didn't spread anywhere else."

The fire is not being treated as suspicious.
