BCEC rewarded for catering effort
Brisbane Convention & Exhibition Centre (BCEC) took home two major venue awards at the 2018 Meetings & Events Australia Queensland Awards this week.
BCEC won the categories of ‘Banqueting & Catering’ and ‘Meeting, Exhibition or Event Venue – Capacity more than 500’.
Winning the major award for Banqueting & Catering was timely, with BCEC playing host to 4000 guests at breakfasts and lunches for five International Women’s Day events.
“I am incredibly proud of the efforts of the BCEC team across the entire operations of the Centre, who continue to deliver outstanding outcomes for our clients every day,” said BCEC general manager Bob O’Keeffe.
“It is as an honour to be recognised by our peers at the very top level of the industry and a credit to all those involved.”
It also comes as David Pugh steps up to the role of executive chef at the Centre, replacing Martin Latter.
