Owners join forces on Queensland Hotel

The owners of the Queensland Hotel Goondiwindi are taking to market the Hotel for sale, as either a Leasehold or Freehold Going Concern Sale.

Sighting the retirement of the current tenant, both the Tenant and Freehold Owner have decided to put their respective proprietorships to market.

The sale will be the first time a Going Concern Hotel has been to market in the township since the previous purchase of the pub in 1995, by the current owner. Advertised as offering “The best meals & the coldest beer in Goondiwindi” the Queenslander is a local favourite, positioned in the heart of town.

The Queensland/NSW border town, Goondiwindi, is located on the banks of the Macintyre River, at the junction of 5 major highways linking both western NSW and western QLD. Home to over 6,000* residents, and servicing approximately 15,000 residents throughout the Greater Region, Goondiwindi was named the best country town in Queensland in 2018. Outperforming all other Queensland country towns thanks to its "Surprise Package" of above-average income, demographic diversity, low unemployment, a cohesive community and well-performing public services (sourced from The Australian). The town's economic diversity and profitable local industries is another strong factor in its selection.

The Hotel offers 13 Accommodation Rooms, well-appointed Managers’ Residence, dual lane drive through Bottle-Shop, Public Bar, TAB & Keno, Bistro, Gaming Room with 12 Gaming Machine Entitlements (20 approved), Beer Garden, Party Bar/Function Room and DA approval for a proposed motel development.

The Property will be marketed by HTL Property’s Queensland Director Glenn Price; assisting Mr Price will be Ray White Goondiwindi owner, Jon Gleeson.

Mr Price commented “We expect there to be strong interest in the Hotel, it has a solid trading history and offers significant upside for any incoming purchaser”.

“With a number of large scale infrastructure projects due to commence, creating jobs and growth, the economic outlook for the region looks favourable for years to come”. stated Mr Gleeson.

The Queensland Hotel will be sold by way of a national Expressions of Interest process concluding 17 April 2019. The Agent advised that the sale campaign will seek offers for either a Freehold Going Concern or Leasehold sale.
