Aria Brisbane to close after 10 years of operation at Eagle Street

Aria Brisbane will close its doors after a decade at Eagle Street.
Matt Moran who owns it as part of hospitality group Solotel, says the timing was right as it comes to the end of the lease.
“We just decided it was time,” Moran told The Courier-Mail. “We talked to them about other options but that was the best option I think to go out on a high.
“All good things come to an end and the end of the current lease seems like the perfect time for us to go out on top in Brisbane.
“It has been an incredible decade and an absolute honour to be able to work with the best chefs and staff and the finest ingredients that Queensland has to offer.”
Moran denied that new riverfront dining precinct Howard Smith Wharves had dinted its bottom line, saying it was a different market.
“That’s got nothing to do with it,” he said. “It wasn’t hurting financially, it was time. No tenure and that was it.”
He also left the door open for the possibility of another location for a new incarnation of his high-end restaurant.
“We’re always looking around for different things, and if the opportunity came up, of course,” he said.
The restaurant will carry out its final service on June 15.
