New cafe for Moana Chambers in Perth’s Hay St Mall

A new cafe and events space will open later this month in the historic Moana Chambers building in Perth’s Hay St Mall.

Launched by hospitality first-timer and event producer Cheyne Buczek, Moana Hall will be the city’s only first-floor venue with a balcony overlooking the mall below.

Buczek said he was inspired by the thought of developing a “beautiful” heritage space into a thriving hospitality venue.

Rezen Studios, Cusp Design Studios and Assemble WA will oversee the design of the space which features heritage ceilings, restored floorboards, Federation Free Classical arched windows and a 10-metre long iron bar and drinks shelf.

The venue will open Monday to Friday and will also be available for events seven days a week.

The coffee will be supplied by Margaret River Roasting Co while Ox & Robbit will serve up the sweet treats and takeaway food.
