New restaurant planned for Dapto Citizens Bowling Club
The Dapto Citizens Bowling Club has unveiled plans to add a new 60 seat restaurant to the building.
The club’s board want to extend the building and create a new restaurant which would include a seating area, bar and servery.
The club’s Club executive officer, Shaun Parnis, told The Illawarra Mercury they wanted to broaden the club’s offering.
"We have a Chinese/Western food option but we think a cafe or pizza offering would be enticing,” he said.
"It would be a more relaxed dining option and a bottle bar would likely be included."
However, Parnis stressed that the plans for the restaurant, which would see a small reduction of the bowling green, were just one option being considered.
"It is still early days and the plans have not been passed by the board officially,” he said.
"The board wanted to put in the application to see if it would get approved and then that would give the club the option to create a new restaurant."
If it goes ahead, the new restaurant would be open for lunch trade from 11:30am to 2:30pm and evenings from 5pm to 9pm, seven days.
