Delays for proposed $110m Langham Hotel and apartment project at Glenelg North

A planned $110 million development in Adelaide beach suburb Glenelg that includes a 150-room Langham branded hotel and residential apartments has asked for more time to begin construction.

The project was approved three years ago, but the consortium behind the five-star hotel and apartment building on Adelphi Terrace have sought another one-year extension to their development approval.

Speaking to The Advertiser, consortium spokeswoman Sonia Lefevre said they don’t see any major issues behind the delay.

“At this stage we’re not going to see any movement (construction) this year, it will be likely earlier next year,” she said.

The Comfort Inn Haven Marina, which is to be demolished to build the new development, will continue to trade as normal.

“Once the builder is engaged we can stop taking bookings,” she said.
