New build 29-storey hotel in Sydney CBD seeking approval
Sydney could see a new build 29-storey hotel in the CBD under a proposal sitting with the Department of Planning.
The $116 million hotel spread across Kent and Erskine streets would wrap around another 16-storey tower which has already been approved.
The plans for the 360-room hotel feature a two-level podium including lobby and function rooms, with 24-storeys reserved for the accommodation rooms, a rooftop bar and terrace above.
Documents submitted to the department by Romanus Developments read: “The proposed development will enhance the availability of well-designed hotel accommodation within central Sydney, supporting State and council strategic directions to enhance central Sydney’s role as a strategic and vibrant centre for tourism and employment.”
The City of Sydney is currently reviewing the proposal.
