It’s on! The hospitality industry’s most anticipated show opens this Sunday

Black Star Pastry’s Christopher Thé will be demonstrating on the Unox stand as well as at the brand new demonstration theatre, The Sweet Spot.

Foodservice Australia 2019 will host more exhibitors than ever before over three days at the Melbourne Convention & Exhibition Centre from Sunday 23 June.

This dynamic trade-only event will also feature world-class culinary competitions, two cutting edge conferences, and plenty of free demonstrations and workshops featuring some of the hottest chefs in Australia.

“To stay profitable and grow your business it is crucial to keep ahead of food, equipment and management trends,” says Event Director Tim Collett. “Foodservice Australia is a live event that allows chefs, bakers, restaurateurs, café owners and caterers to literally taste the trends as they are being launched to market.”

Collett reveals that notable suppliers exhibiting at the show this year include, Unox, Nespresso, Comcater, OpenTable, FED, Simplot, Stoddart, JL Lennard, Freedom Foods, FoodService Machinery, Mission Foods, Winterhalter, Majors Group, Parmalat, Fiat and McCain, among many others.

“With over 400 exhibitors, visitors will be able to meet suppliers large and small – as well as the big names there are many small producers exhibiting for the first time,” he says. “They’ll also find beverage suppliers, furniture, technology, packaging and everything in between.”

Aimed at restaurateurs, bakers, caterers, hoteliers, café and quick service restaurant operators, Foodservice Australia is the only dedicated trade show for this vital sector. “It is focused on the foodservice industry, which means everyone is talking the same language,” adds Collett.

Alongside the show there are two conferences, the Aged Care Catering Summit and the National Restaurant Conference. Both feature speakers, panellists and presenters who are leaders in their fields.

New this year to the show is The Sweet Spot, a demonstration stage hosted by Nerida Conway showcasing chocolate, confectionery, gelato and patisserie. Proudly sponsored by Confeta and Apromo Trading, The Sweet Spot will feature hourly presentations aimed at bakers, patissiers, and chefs looking to sweeten up their menu.

Exciting national competitions to be held at Foodservice Australia include Chef of the Year, the Australian Culinary Federation (ACF) Restaurant Challenge and the ACF Global Challenge. In addition, there are free workshops and demonstrations at the Café School, and plenty to see and taste at the Specialty Producers Pavilion.

Entry to the show is restricted to people over 16 who work in the food or hospitality industry and is free by registering online before the event.
