‘Unforeseen circumstances’ shutter Royal Terrace Hotel less than six months after reopening

A heritage listed pub in Adelaide’s Kent Town has shut its doors for the last week despite only reopening five months ago.

The new management of the Royal Terrace Hotel put a sign on its door last Friday saying “due to unforeseen circumstances we will not be opening today”. The pub has remained closed since then.

The Advertiser reported that venue operator Elli Cakar has not responded to enquiries.

Cakar is currently involved in a legal battle over a disputed $25,000 consultancy bill launched by multiple creditors headed by business consultant Phil Ransome.

Cakar’s company, Entertainment Venue’s Australia, also runs The Pier Hotel at Glenelg, Propoganda club in the city, Brougham Adelaide in North Adelaide and the Lady Bay Hotel.
