Manly’s Ivanhoe Hotel in The Corso set for major changes

Manly’s The Ivanhoe in The Corso has announced a number of developments over the coming years including an extension into its next-door neighbour and the closing of its sports bar.

Development applications documents show the sports bar will close at some point between now and the end of the lease on July 15, 2024 and be turned into an as yet unknown shop, while the expansion into a section of Chemist Warehouse will be turned into a gaming room.

The various development means the hotel will lose around 92 sqm of space.

“It must be noted that the increase of approximately 50 sqm in floorspace is only temporary and will lapse by 2024,” the application said.

“The application has no intension to intensify the use as there is no increase in gaming machines or patron capacity.

“The increase to floorspace is only temporary and is aimed to improve patron experience at the hotel within the tourist town centre in Manly.”

The hotel is owned by Tim Peterson and underwent a Hamptons-style makeover in 2013.
