Man accused of knife attack at a Sydney pub found in Melbourne

A 20-Year-old man who allegedly stabbed three men outside a Sydney pub has been extradited to NSW this week after being found in Melbourne.

The man will appear at Downing Centre Local Court today, in Sydney’s CBD, accused of the attack that occurred just before 4am on 29 May outside the Norfolk Hotel on Cleveland Street, Redfern.

The man was spotted earlier this month in Preston, Victoria by detectives and was arrested.

NSW detectives travelled to Victoria on Tuesday where they were granted the man's extradition in Melbourne Magistrates Court.

He was then taken to Sydney’s Mascot Police Station where he was charged with three counts of wounding a person with intent to cause grievous bodily harm.

Bail was refused.

The four men involved in the brawl were reportedly known to each other.

A 19-year-old man was treated at St Vincent’s Hospital for a critical stab wound to his chest, while another 20-year-old man was taken to Prince of Wales Hospital in a stable condition with injuries to his arm.

NSW Ambulance Inspector Dominic Wong stated the victims had high risk injuries.

“Any injuries involving a knife have the potential to be life threatening, especially to the chest and stomach where there is serious risk of damaging a patient's vital organs,” Wong said.

They've all since been released from hospital.
