Famous Sydney chef denies domestic violence allegations

Prominent chef Kasper Christensen, who has served the Danish royal family and managed culinary operations at the Sydney Opera House, has pleaded not guilty to domestic violence charges.

The 45-year-old, known for his appearances on the former television program "Studio 10," faces allegations of assaulting and injuring a woman at a Frenchs Forest address on December 17. He is charged with one count of assault occasioning actual bodily harm – domestic violence related, and one count of common assault – domestic violence related.

Christensen entered his not guilty pleas at Manly Local Court in January. A hearing date is scheduled for May 5. His solicitor, Philippa Walsh, informed the court that Christensen intends to make representations to police investigating the charges.

The court registrar adjourned the case for mention on April 15 to confirm whether the May hearing date will be required.

In addition to his culinary career, which includes having worked at renowned establishments such as Quay Restaurant and the Bathers Pavilion, Christensen is the co-founder of the charity Bread for Life, which sells sourdough starter kits.

According to his LinkedIn profile, Christensen served as a chef to the Danish royal family aboard the royal yacht "Dannebrog" in 2001 during his national service.
