Accor names DV Collective as inaugural charity partner
Accor has announced DV Collective as its first national charity partner under the revamped Accor Community Fund, which now prioritises connecting communities with ‘heartfelt care’. To kick off the partnership, Accor has donated $20,000 to DV Collective, aiming to combat the widespread issue of domestic and family violence, which affects one in four Australian women.
The donation was a combined effort, including Accor's direct contribution and funds raised through the recent World's Best Exchange Rate campaign. This initiative involved pop-up currency exchange booths in Sydney, Brisbane, and Melbourne, where members of the public donated their unused foreign currency.
DV Collective is a non-profit organisation focused on eliminating waitlists for women seeking domestic violence support services, which are currently overwhelmed. The organisation raises funds to provide resources for shelters, caseworkers, counsellors, women's legal services, and trauma recovery programs for mothers and children.
"We’re thrilled to be partnering with Accor. Their genuine commitment to creating positive change and supporting families impacted by domestic violence is inspiring," said DV Collective Founder, Kylie Johanson. "The network of hotels will provide real impact at a national level, but also allow us to activate initiatives within each community. Rural and regional areas experience higher domestic violence incidents due to the isolation and lack of support. This partnership will enable us to expand our reach and continue delivering critical support to those who need it most.”
Accor is implementing a series of nationwide initiatives across its hotel and office network, including:
Silly Sock Campaign: Selling DV Collective's specially designed socks at over 70 Accor hotels, with proceeds going towards essential supplies for women and children in safe houses. Team members will also participate in Silly Sock Day on November 25th to raise awareness.
- Furniture Donations: Repurposing furniture from hotel renovations to support DV shelters.
- Skilled Volunteering: Providing professional expertise and services to DV Collective and its partners.
- Essentials Drive: Collecting essential supplies from Accor hotels and offices in May 2025 for local domestic violence shelters.
- Peer-to-Peer Fundraising: Empowering team members to lead individual fundraising efforts.
Hotel-Led Fundraising Initiatives: Accor hotels will host fundraising events, with proceeds benefiting the Accor Community Fund and DV Collective.
Accor is Australia’s largest hotel operator, with over 400 hotels across the Pacific under brands such as Sofitel, Pullman, Novotel, Mercure, Mantra, Mövenpick, and ibis. It aims to use its extensive network to raise awareness and drive meaningful community impact. The Accor Community Fund will continue to expand, with further pillars and charity partners to be announced in the coming months.
