George Weston appoints new director to “improve the customer experience”

Weston Milling, a division of George Weston Foods (GWF), has appointed Robyn Murray to the newly created senior position of Director of Food Technology and Quality

Murray will lead Weston Milling’s technical team of grain experts to enhance the Company’s customer experience “through unrivalled product, expertise and value.”

With over 20 years of food industry experience and having spent the last two years as the CEO of the Grains and Legumes Nutrition Council, Murray brings to her new role a wealth of senior experience and in-depth knowledge of the industry.

Reporting to Weston Milling’s Managing Director, Peter McKinney, Murray will lead the technical and quality teams and be directly responsible for Customer Applications Technology, Quality, Innovation, Product Range and Varietal Development. In this role, she will leverage her deep understanding of the agricultural industry to ensure the right mix of products, service and quality that exceed customer expectations.

According to Managing Director of Weston Milling, Peter McKinney, the appointment positions Weston Milling strongly for strategic growth in 2013 and beyond.

“We are very pleased to welcome Robyn to our team. Her industry experience has given her great insight into exactly what our customers value and her market knowledge is critical in helping to position our business for the next period of growth,” Mr McKinney said.

“At the heart of this plan, is to consolidate Weston Milling as Australia’s Grain Experts.”

Previously, Murray held senior positions at a number of food manufacturers across the region including Kellogg’s, Sara Lee and Campbell Arnott’s.
