A win for the accommodation industry in Sydney

The Accommodation Association of Australia sees the decision to establish a heliport as a win for tourism and for hotels in the Sydney CBD.

The small but significant piece of infrastructure hopes to attract high-yielding visitors to Sydney and provide a more convenient CBD airport shuttle for corporate travellers as well as an experience for tourists.

“Hotel guests will now have the choice to arrive right in the heart of Sydney in a very efficient mode of transport which will bring Sydney on par with major cities such as New York”, said the Accommodation Association’s CEO Richard Munro.

“The plan to operate a heliport from Sydney’s harbour has been talked about for some time and therefore the Accommodation Association applauds the O’Farrell Government for taking the initiative to establish one.

“Attracting more high-yielding visitors to Sydney will benefit the accommodation industry as well as the broader economy.”
