Inn's well-earned accolade

The Camden Valley Inn's commitment to community service has been recognised at the Australian Hotel Association (AHA) Awards for Excellence 2013.

The inn won the outstanding community service and achievement award at the ceremony on November 25 at The Star.

It was also nominated for five other awards: best family friendly hotel, best outdoor/non-enclosed facility, best casual dining venue - country, best pub-style accommodation and best overall hotel of the year - country.

Wedding and events co-ordinator Lee-Michelle Palmer said the staff were thrilled to win the community service award.

"It really acknowledges how much we put in for the community," she said.

"We will use this to assist the community further."

The Camden Valley Inn has hosted the launch night for the Advertiser-sponsored Macarthur Swimathon for Cystic Fibrosis every year and is back on board for next year's 2014 DA Global CF Swim Macarthur.

Mrs Palmer said the launch night was the inn's biggest in-house run fund-raiser, and that many other community and charity groups were able to use the venue for their own fund-raising events.

She said the inn also regularly gave out vouchers and prizes to charity raffles and auctions.

This was the first time the inn had won the community service award.
