New 70s-themed live music venue

A 1970s-inspired small bar called Easy Tiger has recently opened up in the basement of Sydney’s The Unicorn Hotel, with a strong focus on live music.

The new venue sports a vintage fit out taking its cues from 1970s era Americana and even features roller-skating waitresses, as well as serving up retro cocktails as well as a range of signature, fun drinks such as the Easy Tiger, A Marvin Gayetime, Oh No, Yoko!, The Bloody Carrie!, The Grateful Dead and Solid Gold.

Open five nights a week, Easy Tiger will play host to regular weekly events and will featuring a live music night every Thursday featuring up and coming bands such as Chicks Who Love Guns, Velociraptor and Bachelor Pad. 

“Live music was a must-have feature for Easy Tiger. Following the closure of a number of iconic small music venues in recent years, the area was crying out for a new live venue, and we hope to deliver,” said Easy Tiger licensee, Luke Prout.

Monday night is reserved for the hospitality industry, while guests will be able to set up a bar tab and order their drinks through 1970’s walkie talkies on Wednesday nights.

The food menu also tilts its head towards the 1970s, offering up bar snacks such as Bacon Fat Popcorn, Chilli Cheese Fries and Soft Pretzel with Fondue, Breville Classico toasties, Hick Burgers and a 1970s Share Plate that includes vol-au-vents, kiev bites and devilled eggs.

“Inspired by current music trends and looking to offer something quite unique to what’s currently out there in the small bar scene, my team and I aimed to create a super-comfortable and often cheeky venue that we would love to drink and eat at ourselves,” said Prout.
