New look for Heritage beer bar

The group behind Australia’s best-loved Irish venues has launched its fourth European-inspired venue with a reincarnation of a traditional beer hall in The Rocks.

The award-winning husband and wife team Patrick and Angela Gallagher have re-opened the Heritage Bar as the Belgian Beer Café Heritage, boasting authentic Belgian beers and cuisine.

The Belgian Beer Café brand was created back in 1998 by multi-national AB InBev to showcase the country’s culinary traditions, and the Gallagher launch inspired the presence of the esteemed Belgian ambassador to Australia and his wife.

Taking a particular pride in their venue’s authenticity, Angela Gallagher says the menu at their latest venue includes Belgian-smacked specialties such as Hoegaarden Steamed Mussels, Flemish Beef Stew, and traditional Belgian waffles.

"We're excited to be joining one of the world's most renowned café groups,” says Angela.

“With Belgian Beer Café Heritage, we have worked closely with the team from Belgium as we aim to maintain the high quality of food with our new Belgian Beer Café global menu partnership and authentic atmosphere, for which the venues around the world are renowned – as well as adding a unique touch of Gallagher Hotels flair."

As well as offering Belgian stalwart draught beers like Stella Artois, Hoegaarden, Leffe Blonde and Leffe Brune, the Belgian Beer Café brings the traditional European rituals around pouring beers, adding an element of theatre to a the authentic décor and atmosphere.
