WORKING with food, wine or beer in the Margaret River area? Your region needs you!

For three hours this Wednesday, July 23, local industry is being asked to “photobomb” social media with images of delicious experiences from the across the region, linking in with the hashtag #restaurantaustralia.

The photo blitz is targeting Tourism Australia’s latest international marketing campaign, Restaurant Australia, and is being organised by the Augusta Margaret River and Geographe Bay Tourism Associations.

The national campaign sets out to promote a better understanding of Australian food and wine experiences to those who have never been here.

Local industry members are encouraged to upload as many images as possible on Facebook, Twitter or Instagram between 12pm and 3pm on Wednesday, making sure to link in posts or tweets with #restaurantaustralia.

Images should involve people, produce and/or place – Restaurant Australia’s core themes.

And for those who find wrangling social media a challenge, the AMRTA and GBTA marketing teams are available to assist local members.

“Our aim is to, for a select period of time, dominate the social media activity of #restaurantaustralia with delicious content from the Margaret River Region to raise the profile of our region as an exceptional venue for food and wine experiences,” AMRTA marketing and communications co-ordinator Victoria Johnson said.

“We want to create the world’s biggest conversation not just about Australian food and wine, but about the Margaret River Region’s food and wine!”

Local businesses are also being encouraged to submit a listing to Restaurant Australia via restaurant.australia.com.
