Stoneleigh launching pop-up bars

Marlborough wine brand Stoneleigh is set to launch Stoneleigh Metro, two ‘urban oasis bars’ in the heart of Sydney and Melbourne.

The pop-up bars will be located at Metro St James in Sydney from Thursday October 9 and Metropol in Melbourne’s St Kilda from Thursday October 16.

They build on the success of last year’s Stoneleigh pop-up in Sydney’s Circular Quay, which had 67,000 visitors over summer and more than 30,000 glasses of wine sampled.

Visitors can enjoy a range of Stoneleigh wines alongside canapés, while listening to live music or joining a unique cellar door experience. Sydney will run until January 31, 2015 and Melbourne until February 28.

Created by Australian stylist and style director at large of Belle Magazine, Steve Cordony, the bars will provide a ‘Wonder of Nature’ experience full of lush flora, hanging gardens and the Stoneleigh sunstones for locals to indulge in an urban sanctuary in the heart of the CBD.

Pernod Ricard Australia marketing director Anne Martin said: “The Stoneleigh Circular Quay pop-up was a fantastic way to bring the brand to life for wine lovers last summer, so this year with ‘Wonder of Nature’ we are building on that success with a significant investment across both major cities for the whole of summer.”

Visitors can book one of three Stoneleigh Cellar Door experiences that can each be shared with up to seven guests, with a Stoneleigh wine advisor explaining the unique features of Stoneleigh Marlborough vineyards.
