Miel Myer runs several hundred cows on a property near New Zealand's Mystery Creek Field Day site and has a supply contract with dairy giant Fonterra.

Mr Myer said the unique partnership means they can take amounts of milk when needed to make their gouda cheese.

"I grew up with Dutch heritage and my father was taught to make gouda cheese at a Monastery; I was destined to become a cheese maker," he said.

"We make five and 10 kilo' wheels of gouda but there has been a growth in the pre-packaged product over the past few years.
