Charges over finger lost in pub door

A finger amputated after it was caught in a pub door has landed an 18-year-old woman in court.

Police arrested an 18-year-old woman at Wyong on Tuesday night, charging her with recklessly cause grievous bodily harm in company, affray, and fail to quit licensed premises.

The charges relate to an incident at a Budgewoi Road pub on Monday night where the 18-year-old and a friend allegedly re-entered the pub after they were told to leave.

Staff attempted to remove the pair when it is alleged they tried to force their way back in, causing a door to slam and injure the female staff member, 30.

The 30-year-old was taken the John Hunter Hospital but lost the tip of her finger.

The 18-year-old was charged with recklessly cause grievous bodily harm in company, affray, and fail to quit licensed premises.

She received conditional bail and will face Wyong Local Court on July 29.

Inquiries are continuing and investigators are expecting to charge a further person in relation to the incident.
