Ajarni cafe in Lower Templestowe gives valuable on job experience thanks to $175k grant

COMMUNITY spirit is brewing in Manningham.

The Ajarni cafe is giving participants from the Onemda Leap program valuable on-the-job experience in the hospitality industry.

The cafe opened its doors in April and one participant has already found part time work.

The cafe is part of the Community Hub at Ajani which has been boosted thanks to a $175,000 cash injection from the State Government.

Centre manager Chris Mountford said the community hub was conveniently located, especially for those in Bulleen and Lower Templestowe.

She said it brought a range of services together and would allow people to access information and services provided by Doncare, Manningham Community Health, Whitehorse and Manningham Libraries, Onemda and Manningham Council.

The Community Hub and cafe are located at Ted Ajani Reserve, 2/284 Thompsons Rd, Lower Templestowe.

The cafe is open on Thursdays between 9.30am-2.30pm.
