Armed bandit demands cash in Melbourne milk bar robbery

AN armed bandit has demanded cash during a brazen robbery at a milk bar in Melbourne’s northeast.

Banyule Crime Investigation Unit detectives were told a man carrying a backpack entered the Cameron Parade milk bar in Watsonia North just before 8pm on August 14.

He opened the bag and demanded cash from the attendant who spoke limited English.

The robber fled the scene and was last seen running west along Cameron Parade.

Detectives have released CCTV footage of a man they wish to speak to.

He is described as caucasian in appearance, aged in his early 20s, with light brown hair.

He was wearing a black jumper and black tracksuit pants with white bottoms.

He was carrying a camouflaged pattern backpack.

Police urged anyone with information to call Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
