Handcrafted in Central Otago, New Zealand – Drumsara Pinot Noir, Dry Pinot Gris and VVS Pinot Rose  is so suited to meat and seafood it’s unfair to keep them apart.

We are proudly a family owned and operated, single vineyard using sustainable wine growing and wine making techniques. We are very proud of our young French winemaker, Antony Worch, who has been making our wine and turning heads  since our 2005  vintage. A sting of trophies and medals attests Antony’s skill, and that of our vineyard team under Michell’s leadership.

Born of glacial ice and rock, the 20,703 vines are nurtured on the minerality locked in glacial outwash gravel plateau high above the twin Alexandra Basin towns of Alexandra and Clyde, in the eastern quarter of Central Otago. The vineyard is situated just 2km east of the pioneering planting of 1862. A vineyard site  of extremes with 1200-1300 GDD, and a temperature range of minus 5.1 to plus 46.4 Deg ...now that is EXTREME!

During the barrel fermentation process, Antony has beautiful classical music playing continuously in the barrel room. This  relaxes and enhance the beauty of our wines so they can be shared throughout New Zealand, Australia, Singapore, China and the UK.

 

Drumsara Central Otago Pinot Noir – Ventifacts Block

The variety  is the reflection of the Ventifact block’s true potential. The aromas of marama strawberry, plum and liquorice are intense, the tannins combined to the 25% new French oak are well integrated in the palate and allow a long and lingering finish. A real Drumsara experience to enjoy now and worth cellaring for 5-7 years.    

                                                                                   

 

 

 

 

 

 

Drumsara Central Otago Dry Pinot Gris

This variety  displays a large spectrum of aromas ranging from floral notes of lime tree to summer and exotic fruits (nectarine and mango) and finishing with citrus (lemon and orange zest). This complexity of flavours reflects in the palate, which is concentrated, luscious and shows long lasting aromas of nectarine and stone fruit.

 

 

 

 

 

 

Drumsara Central Otago VVS Pinot Rose

Our  VVS Pinot Rose  (Very Very Special) has a bright pink colour with a blue hue. The aromas of strawberry, rhubarb and watermelon are powerful and long lasting. The palate has a lot of concentration and is very textural, making this Rose a great food matching wine.
