Becasse is open for inspection

Insolvency
When a business goes bust, it’s always an opportunity for those in the same industry to step in, pick up a few bargains from the liquidators and generally have a sticky beak behind the closed doors of the opposition.  Justin North’s upmarket eatery Becasse, which served its last meal in July is now open for inspection.

With fittings, utensils and foodstuffs being auctioned at GraysOnline, North’s is a list worth looking at, with everything from bottles of Chateau Mouton Rothschild Bordeaux, through to jars of honey, truffles, oils, pots and pans, ovens and more.

For those in the industry, there is the chance to pick up a dough sheeter, batch freezer, cooling racks and baking trays.  Plus hundreds of Riedel glasses and an impressive cellar of wine that is worth a look.

For the regular foodies, you can grab some cookbooks, gourmet foods and more inexpensive wines to create your own indulgent night in.

The sale closes at 7pm on the 30th August and is under instruction from Messrs Jim Sarantinos & John Melluish of Ferrier Hodgson.  All items must be picked up from Grays Lidcombe warehouse.
