Chadstone Shopping Centre to launch new laneway styled restaurant scene

Melbourne’s Chadstone Shopping Centre will launch a new precinct where customers can find laneway style restaurants that bring a CBD feel to the retail mall.

It is expected to bring in not only shoppers, but the growing office population that is now widespread in the area.

It will also be an attraction for hotel guests.

“It’s a market-leading precinct that we’re opening; there’s nothing else like it anywhere in the country,” said Carolyn Viney, Vicinity Centres chief development officer.

“This is the calibre of offer that you would ordinarily find in a CBD and we are recreating that at Chadstone.”

The new $71 million entertainment and dining precinct will be called The Social Quarter and is set to open this summer.

It covers around 10,350sq and will have 18 dining and entertainment outlets.

The six new restaurants and food outlets are Cinque Terre, Sardine Bar,  Cityfields, Piccolina Gelateria, White + Wong’s and UA Brewing Co.

For entertainment there will be Holey Moley, Archie Brothers, Strike Bowling and Hijinx Hotel.

“We’re excited to be able to welcome visitors to enjoy high-end restaurants with spectacular views across Melbourne to the CBD and views to the sky through the state-of-the-art louvred glass roof made up of 468 individually glazed pieces,” Viney said.
