Punters can now buy into Balmain’s iconic Cat & Fiddle hotel

Mum and dad investors and hospitality enthusiasts now have the opportunity to buy into the iconic Balmain pub in Sydney.

The owner of the Cat & Fiddle has put 80 per cent of the pub on the market: a total of 1600 parcels for $10,300 each.

Veteran hotelier Richard Wynne has partnered with property tech platform Bricklet and iPAN-x to bring the pub to the people.

The partners promise a rental yield of 3 per cent each year, guaranteed for a decade.

“Owning a pub is the Australian dream,” Bricklet CEO Darren Younger said.

“We’ve received a huge amount of interest from the local community, especially people in their 20s and 30s who are looking to invest into commercial real estate.

“Buying into a commercial property is a stable long-term investment, and with strong net rental yield of 3 per cent it is a great way for Aussies to enter the property market.

“And who wouldn’t want to own a pub?”

The cat and Fiddle has a long history as a fan favourite and has even hosted iconic Australian bands such as The Whitlams, The Waifs and Leonardo’s Bride, who started their careers there.

The pub has been open for 120 years and includes two bar areas, and Rita’s restaurant, run by chef Sam Bull.
