Warrior Restaurant & Bar opens its doors at Australia Zoo

Australia Zoo has a new warrior, this time in the form of a fine dine restaurant.

Warrior Restaurant & Bar is now open at the Irwin family’s famed zoo and features native produce, crafted cocktails and an extensive wine list.

The restaurant can be found in the Crocodile Hunter Lodge, a rustic wilderness cabin accommodation.

Highlighting the restaurant are high ceilings, an open kitchen and a deck where you can gaze at the kangaroos, emus and koalas while you dine.

On the modern Australian menu you’ll find locally sourced ingredients including karkalla and quandongs used by executive chef Craig Milne to create dishes like the Sunshine Coast goat cheese croquette and smoked Petuna ocean trout. Larger dishes include a 200-gram Angus tenderloin with brandy fig and crisp Kurobuta pork belly.

On the dessert menu are the creme brulee with macadamia and wattleseed shortbread and the key lime pie with lemon myrtle ice cream.

Warrior Restaurant & Bar is open to the public for breakfast, lunch and dinner and caters to most dietary requirements such plant-based or gluten-free.

For those looking to gather in a larger group, a private dining room is available.

Warrior Restaurant & Bar strives to fulfil the zoo’s mission of reconnecting diners with nature.
