International wins for SA tawny and riesling

Two South Australian wineries have been the only Australian trophy winners at an international wine awards ceremony in London.

The Decanter World Wine Awards held at the Royal Opera House saw a trophy go to a Grant Burge 20-year-old tawny port from the Barossa Valley as the best sweet fortified wine.

O'Leary Walker Wines from the Clare Valley won for best riesling.

Panels of 211 judges tasted a record 14,120 wines from 47 countries to find the small group of winners.
