Bentley Group to open King Clarence in October as Sydney’s hospitality scene thrives

The Bentley Restaurant Group is taking its expertise to Clarence St in Sydney, with the October opening of exciting new dining destination King Clarence.

The restaurant will celebrate many Asian cuisines including from China, Korea and Japan. It will be a welcoming 100-seat dining room that co-owner and chef Brent Savage says be "fun, loud, and busy".

The menu will be built around a custom-built barbecue and grill, as well as substantial live seafood tanks.

Diners can also expect an extensive drinks menu, with the Asian-inspired food to be paired with a list of 40 different wines by the glass. The Bentley Wine Vault will also offer rare drops. A robust selection of cocktails can also be paired with meals.

"This is new and exciting territory for us. We think the dining experience at King Clarence will appeal to all, whether it be a celebration, a corporate lunch or a late-night snack," co-owner and sommelier Nick Hildebrandt said.

"It's been a big year for us with the opening of Brasserie 1930 in March, and we look forward to rounding out the year opening a venue Brent and I have long been planning."

Brasserie 1930 opened in Circular Quay and joined the company’s growing stable which includes Yellow, Monopole, Cirrus and Bentley Restaurant + Bar.

King Clarence provides Sydney hospitality’s post pandemic recovery with another momentum gainer. Since lockdowns were lifted, new venues have popped up at pace including globally recognised YCK Precinct, Palazzo Salato, Pinky Ji, Ginny’s Canoe Club, Oti’ and Mumu in Merivale’s ivy precinct and luxurious new hotels with adjoining bars and restaurants Capella and Hotel Morris.
