Crews extinguish blaze at landmark hotel


Flames and thick smoke pour out of the top floor of the Red Castle Hotel in Lathlain.

 

More than 20 firefighters have extinguished a fire which was blazing at a hotel in Perth's south-east.

Fire crews from Bassendean, Belmont and Fremantle worked to contain the fire, which was burning on the top floor of the Red Castle Hotel.

The hotel is on Streatley Road in Lathlain.

The blaze was reported to authorities through a triple-0 call just after midday (AWDT).

The Fire and Emergency Services Authority says it is believed all occupants of the building are accounted for.
