Sepia named Savour Australia Restaurant of the Year

Sepia Restaurant was crowned 2012 Restaurant of the Year last night in The 2012 Savour Australia Restaurant & Catering Awards for Excellence Sydney and Surrounds at Doltone House on Sydney's foreshore.

Ashcroft’s Restaurant, Blackheath was named Regional Restaurant of the Year, while Caterer of the Year was bestowed upon Eurest (Australia) – Westpac Banking Group, Sydney.

Restaurant & Catering CEO John Hart commented, “The Awards for Excellence represent an important moment as the industry pauses to honour these outstanding venues that have been anonymously judged and rigorously reviewed against the entire dining experience, rather than a single food or service dimension,” he said.

Other winners included Raw Bar, Bondi Beach named Consumer Vote Award winner, while Tourism Restaurant was received by Jonah's Restaurant & Boutique Hotel, Whale Beach.

2012 NSW Restaurateur of the Year went to Mark Scanlan & Mark Dickey, Garfish Restaurants while the Lifetime Achiever went to Maurizio Mencio, Il Perugino, Mosman.

Leon Fink, The Fink Group (Quay, Otto, Bridge Room) was inducted into the Hall of Fame.
