Refurbished Glenmore Hotel unveiled

After the better part of a year of loving restoration, the heritage-listed Glenmore Hotel has reopened with a new roof and a bang.

Within hours of the doors being thrown open last Friday, hundreds of new and loyal patrons flooded the venue from the ground floor on Cumberland Street to the new retractable roof overlooking Sydney Harbour and the Opera House.

Other new features include the ‘Ladies Pamper Parlour’, environmentally friendly cellar pumps, and the transformation of the old accommodation rooms into the ‘Glenmore Lounge’.

With its own cocktail bar, lounge area and Juliette balconies, the Glenmore Lounge is a collection of elegant private rooms inspired by Louise Lovely, the famous Australian-born Hollywood actress known to charm The Glenmore patrons with her glamorous ways and Hollywood tales.

"After nine long months of restoration and upgrading the hotel facilities, we have been overwhelmed by the patronage we have received since opening last Friday at 3pm," Shortcorp managing director Martin Short told TheShout.
