RECIPE: Crispy Chicken and Chips Poutine with Cheese

Ingredients

  • 2kg frozen chunky chips
  • 200g bacon, cut into strips
  • 1 litre of made premade gravy
  • 1kg Ingham crispy chicken strips
  • Vegetable oil, to deep-fry
  • 50g mozzarella, finely chopped
  • 100g cheddar, finely chopped

 

Method

  1. In a large frying pan over medium-high heat. Cook bacon for 2-3 minutes or until golden. Set aside with a slotted spoon. 
  2. Make gravy as per instructions. Set aside
  3. Deep-fry chips on 180 Degrees for 5-8 minutes or until golden and crunchy. Deep-fry Ingham crispy chicken strips till golden and crunchy.  Drain on paper towel.
  4. Slice strips into 2- 3cm slices
  5. Divide fries immediately between 8 plates and top 2 – 3 (whole) sliced chicken strips per plate  then add cheese and bacon. Pour over piping hot gravy. And Serve
